Nevada Lawmakers Eye Plan To Restrict Las Vegas Water Supply Citing Climate Change
Nevada state lawmakers are considering a plan to give water authorities the power to limit the amount of water available for residential use. The bill would grant the Southern Nevada Water Authority the ability to cap residential water use in single-family homes to 160,000 gallons per year. Supporters of the bill argue that drought, climate change and a surge in demand have contributed to the deepening problem.
