Socrates, skeptical cynic!
We live in a world of suspicion, skepticism, cynicism. Where does this come from? How do we understand the role (and rise) of Socrates as a figure in our world?
What are the impacts of raising up a figure like Socrates to the status of sole importance?
When you embrace the ideas of Socrates as too valuable without something to balance it out, you become solipsistic, cynical and unable to change. Constantly questioning the world isn't good for you or those around you! I'm not saying don't listen to Socrates, but you have to be balanced in your approach, lest you become unbalanced. The attitude of constantly questioning leads away from intimacy, prevents empathy, locks you away from honest relationship with others.
