Google's VP of Canadian Operations was summoned before my committee today to answer questions about blocking news to Canadians. No answers. No transparency. Just contempt for Canadian democracy. Google thinks it can intimidate Canada into backing down. But they don’t know Canadians. We won’t be pushed around. Tech giants will have to pay their fair share to local media.
