When the Saints Are Marching In is written in 1896 by Katharine Purvis with music of James Milton Black. Louis Daniel Armstrong from New Orleans recorded it back in 1938. Only to perform it 20 years later in this Ed Sullivan Show live music video. Even then it turned out to be the epic jazz standard that everyone knows nowadays.
