Karimunjawa - A Stone's Throw From Java

Karimunjawa is an archipelago in the Java Sea which is included in Jepara Regency , Central Java . With a land area of ​​± 1,500 hectares and waters of ± 110,000 hectares, Karimunjawa is now being developed into the charm of a Marine Park tour which is starting to be loved by many local and foreign tourists.

According to local legend, Karimunjawa was discovered by Sunan Nyamplungan . At that time, Sunan Muria ordered Amir Hasan to an island that looked blurry (blurred) from the top of Mount Muria to develop his religious knowledge. Because it looks creamy , finally the island was named "Karimunjawa" until now.

Amir Hasan later became known as Sunan Nyamplungan because he planted the Nyamplung plant there, which turned out to be useful as a windbreaker
