When the Burnside family arrives for mom's new job at the Institute of Technology, they find robots, algorithmic aliens and big egos haunting the California tech town of San Purisma.

Everybody in town has a different take on Artificial Intelligence. For the Chancellor of PurTech, it's all about money. For Dr. Thurman, it's a religious obsession. With dermatologist Kate, it's all about companionship.

Of course, General Hosford wants killer robots, but they keep showing up with some interesting quirks. John and Luis find it threatening to their livelihood, at least so they think.
