The New Orleans rapper, Mystikal, once had the entire hip-hop industry singing his praises during his breakout period in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. But just as it seemed like he was poised to become one of the genre’s biggest stars, a series of criminal charges that would set his career back insurmountably. After entering prison for the first time in 2003 and serving every day of a six-year sentence, Mystikal would once again face some serious accusations in 2017. After narrowly avoiding those charges, this one-time hit maker was saying all the right things about starting over and learning from his past-mistakes – but here we are, five years later, and it’s happening all over again. This week, Mystikal was arrested in Louisiana where he was brought up on charges and false imprisonment.
