As a leader, be open with others when you don’t have all the answers. It takes courage to lead when you are working to gather information while having to make decisions quickly.

When you don’t know the answer, ask someone who knows. This is not a sign of weakness but one of strength mixed with humility. This action will build trust with your stakeholders, giving them a sense of security. You will be telling them that it is ok not to have all the answers as long as you are continuously learning. When your workplace has this mindset, you will find that mistakes materialize early and your people are more engaged.
