2023_03_12_AM_But Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God

[Why is Pastor Mike looking at his watch? It's the transition to Daylight Savings Time, and a few in our congregation didn't set their clocks ahead last night - and are LATE! :-)) (Not to mention that it's becoming late to "Get Right with God" so that we may enter into His Kingdom)]

Our title comes from Matthew 6:33. Pastor Mike preaches Matthew 6:17-34 of Jesus' "Sermon on the Mount" (Matthew chapters 5-7) about entering God's Kingdom. Among Jesus' admonitions are to: "lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven" (v20) "take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on" (v25), and "take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself" (v34).

Pastor Mike adds that entering the Kingdom involves: 1) Honoring God with everything you have; 2) Keeping your commitments to God; 3) Learning to love all people - saints, sinners, and those of other beliefs - with the Love of Jesus : all were created in God's image and likeness. Our task is to lead them to the Father through Jesus and the Holy Spirit: with our love, with our testimony, and by our example.

We are not to complain: but to be happy with who we are and whatever our circumstance - trusting in God's promises and faithfulness.
