Procrastination Is a Habit

I have a take on procrastination that you probably never heard before.

It's a bit counterintuitive, so let me explain.

Procrastination is a habit.

And then you may ask: how NOT doing something can be a habit?

Well, we think of habits as something we do, but another way of looking at habits is the decisions our brains make.

When you brush your teeth, order the food you like, or watch Netflix, your brain chose to do those things **instead** of doing something else.

If you are a procrastinator, instead of doing homework, writing a blog post, or starting a business, your brain **chooses** to put it off till tomorrow.

It starts small but since you said tomorrow so many times it becomes the dominant habit.

And that is why it's so hard to get rid of procrastination.

Habits, once formed are impossible to completely extinguish.
Imagine forgetting how to ride a bike.
Even if you haven't done it for years, you could still probably do it on the first try.

But it is possible to get rid of procrastination,
I believe in you anon.
