This exceptional set of 226 antique Tiffany & Co. cutlery. for 12 people is decorated with a very desirable pattern in the form of chrysanthemums. Introduced in 1878 and patented in 1880, the Chrysanthemum pattern is considered one of Tiffany's most beautiful and luxurious designs. The brainchild of renowned designer Charles T. Grosjean, the motif combines traditional baroque forms with a contemporary natural motif. The chrysanthemum quickly became the most prized and luxurious of all the Tiffany designs and a particularly favorite among new brides, despite being one of the most expensive to manufacture. To find a set in such pristine condition, tucked away in its original blue velvet chest, is truly extraordinary.
