Ferret Armored Car Panhard AML - Walkaround - Cavalry Museum Saumur.

The Ferret armoured car, also commonly called the Ferret scout car,
is a British armoured fighting vehicle designed and built
for reconnaissance purposes.
The Ferret was produced between 1952 and
1971 by the UK company Daimler.
It was widely adopted by regiments in
the British Army, as well as the RAF Regiment a
nd Commonwealth
countries throughout the period.

During the 1950s, the French army used Daimler Ferret in large
numbers. The French decides to adopt
a new machine-gun and Panhard presents a prototype in 1957
armed with a very rudimentary mortar-gun.
Production of the AML 245 began in 1960.
