For the part of Oberyn Martell, a prince who could fight as well as he could flirt, Pascal had his friend Sarah Paulson record his audition on her iPhone. She then shared the video with “Game of Thrones” co-showrunner David Benioff’s wife, Amanda Peet. The higher-ups at the series were so impressed with this audition that Pedro immediately landed the part. Like all of Pedro’s best roles, Oberyn didn’t last long before he was brutally dispatched in one of the most memorable on-screen deaths in television history. But hey, at least Pedro already had another role as a DEA agent lined up on Netflix’s hit series “Narcos”.
