Steve Bannon's J6 File Mysteriously No Documents: Rep Matt Gaetz
On March 10, 2023, Rep. Matt Gaetz and Rep. Dan Bishop reportedly reviewed files from the January 6th Committee, which is investigating the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021. According to a video transcript, the files were well-organized and almost complete. However, there was one file for Steve Bannon, former White House strategist, that had no documents in it.
Gaetz expressed concern over the committee's subpoena power, claiming that they had targeted individuals unfairly and crossed the line with their wide-ranging dragnet for records. He also suggested that some phone numbers and records may match up to members of Congress and their staff.
Gaetz and Bishop's review of the files comes amid ongoing controversy over the January 6th Committee's methods and goals. Critics argue that the committee is politically motivated and unfairly targeting certain individuals.
