Bodycam shows what led up to officer-involved shooting in Goshen

Police are releasing body camera footage from an officer-involved shooting where a woman was injured in Goshen Township.

According to police records, on Feb. 28, around 9:38 a.m. Goshen Township Police Officers were dispatched to a home in the 7200 block of Pleasant Renner Road for a reported 55-year-old suicidal woman with a gun.

While police were en route to the scene, officers were updated that a family member had disarmed her.

Police said upon arrival at the scene, the woman produced a second gun and pointed it at an officer.

The officer and family safely retreated from the home while officers and the Clermont County Special Response Team was activated.

According to police, before the tactical team arrived, the woman pointed the gun at officers from the front door of the home, and an officer fired a shot striking the woman.

Police said immediate care was rendered, and the woman was flown to UC Medical Center in stable condition.

The woman's identity has not been released at this time.

No other injuries were reported.

The Ohio Bureau of Investigations will be conducting an independent investigation of the incident, and the Clermont County Prosecutor's Office is on the scene.
