Few mega-celebrities are quite as comfortable with the Dark Side of Fame as rapper Kanye West. Sorry, I suppose that’s simply “Ye” now that he had his name legally changed late last year. Well, he can definitely say that again – because over the course of the past few weeks Ye has more or less loss total control of his career after a series of confusing and – yes -- very bad decisions. And while the artist formerly known as Kanye is certainly no stranger to making mistakes, he might have finally bitten off more than he can chew. It all started with the unveiling of Yeezy Season 9 at Paris Fashion Week earlier in October. The show was meant to mark Ye’s return to high fashion after the rapper had severed his working relationship with Gap a month prior, claiming that the store had failed to meet the terms of their contract. After criticizing the clothing line for a number of discretions including their pricing practices, Ye would take things a step further by announcing his intention to end his partnership with Adidas as well. He proceeded to bring those words to life in spectacular car-wreck-like fashion by hosting a secret catwalk event that wound up including one rather surprising fashion faux-pas – a shirt with the slogan “White Lives Matter”.
