BEFORE becoming one of the pop culture’s most popular actors and being labeled as the “internet’s daddy”, Pedro Pascal was born Jose Pedro Balmaceda Pascal in Santiago, Chile, on April 2nd, 1975 to his parents, Veronica Pascal, a child psychologist, and Jose Balmaceda, a fertility doctor. Pedro Pascal arrived on this planet just two years after an overthrow of the Chilean government that saw then-President Salvador Allende murdered. Both of Pedro’s parents were then listed as enemies of the state by the violent new regime because Pedro’s mother was the niece of Andres Pascal Allende, the leader of the country’s Revolutionary Left Movement. One day, Pascal’s father helped an injured rebel and wound up putting his own family’s safety at risk because when that same man was later arrested and tortured, he gave the regime a list of names, including that of Pascal’s father!
