Priya was seen by Dr. Boorstein this evening. She’s been picky and inappetent with food recently, eating grass, and acting off.
She had claws growing into her paw pads so those were taken care of. Her blood tests showed high kidney values which that could indicate kidney disease, her urine was cloudy and typically kidney disease cats have clear urine.
We have sent out her urine for a culture and are suspecting a kidney infection. She is being treated for that with injectables as she is notorious for refusing meds.
She also has a bad molar on her upper right side, but we are holding off on extracting, as that is a major surgery for her to endure while fighting off a current infection.
She’s recovering overnight in the transport cage and will receive an additional injectable anabiotic in the morning before returning to her home enclosure. We will then attempt to get her to ingest an additional round of antibiotics so wish us luck!
