But it was Lil Wayne who ultimately became the real face of Cash Money Records with his critically and commercially acclaimed release, “Tha Carter” in 2004. Birdman popped-up on that album a number of times and then the following year he released his sophomore album, “Fast Money” which debuted at the 9-spot on the Billboard 200. Next came the Lil Wayne and Birdman collaborative project “Like Father, Like Son”, which dropped in 2006 and spawned two hit singles with “Stuntin’ Like my Daddy” and “Leather So Soft”. Unfortunately, Birdman’s next two projects 2007s “5 Stunna” and 2009s “Priceless” would be something of a step-back sale wise. But by that point, Forbes was already estimating that Birdman was worth somewhere in the ballpark of around $125 Million. In 2013, he even became the fifth highest-earning rapper in hip-hop, taking home over $20 Million. But then came a painful split with his surrogate son, Lil Wayne.
