He chose to justify these remarks in bizarre fashion by suggesting that his statement couldn’t be considered bad speech because Black people can be Jewish, just like anyone else. It was... well, a lot. Ye’s tweet was later taken down and his Twitter account was suspended for violating community guidelines. Instagram also restricted his account. Meanwhile, dozens of celebrities including his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, would lambaste Ye for his words and hateful rhetoric. Comedian Sarah Silverman would also send out a tweet, asking for a call to action to protect Jewish people. Although a large number of people did eventually rally against Ye’s controversial remarks, not everyone disagreed with what he had to say. Some even wound up supporting the rapper like this anti-Semitic group in the US who unfurled a banner reading “Kanye is right about the Jews” on a Los Angeles highway while making the salute.
