You see, Jersey Club -- as it’s come to be known -- has undergone many evolutions over the years, but it would be BandmanRill who truly popularized the genre. Jersey Club originally dates back to the 2000s when prominent house music artist DJ Tameil discovered the music of Baltimore club pioneers DJ Technics and Rod Lee in a record shop. He then spun their music overtop his own mixes, bringing this enticing new sound to Jersey for the first time. In the mid-aughts, younger producers like Nadus and Sliink would popularize the genre in the Garden State through daily playtime on hip-hop and R&B radio stations. BandmanRill wasn’t very old when that was happening, nor was he in touch with the scene. Instead, he was listening to Chicago drill artists like Chief Keef and L’A Capone. But when he began looking to leave his own mark on the industry, Bandman would combine all of these disparate influences into one.
