BEFORE becoming the music industry’s most recent indie obsession, the band members knew collectively as Hotel Ugly was born Mike and Chris Fiscella in the states of New Jersey and Florida respectively. As the older of the two siblings, Mike had a good three years in Jersey to enjoy his childhood before Chris came around. But right before that happened, their family moved to Florida where they’d spend the next nine years of their lives. Somewhere around 2009, the family moved yet again, this time to Houston, Texas and they’ve called that spot home ever since. In fact, both boys loved growing up in Texas and whenever someone asks them where home is, they’re quick to reply with “Houston”. Ever since they were kids, Mike and Chris have occupied themselves with three major past-times -- video games, sports, and music. They especially enjoyed gaming series like “League of Legends”, “FIFA”, and “Call of Duty”. What’s more, with their father having been a former professional soccer player, he tried gently to push his sons towards the idea of becoming athletes -- but of the three things they loved the most in their youth, it was music that became their real obsession.
