Ranking My 3 Favorite Mario Games | Mario Day 2023

Happy Mario Day 2023! Looking back over the years, I wanted to share what my favorite Mario Games of all time are. Dating back to the arcades, I've been playing Mario Games for over 40 years (Man I'm old!). There are some games that definitely rank higher than others, and here are my top-3.

3 - Super Mario Bros 3
Yes, it had a movie, and yes that movie was one big commercial to build hype for the new game. But you know what? Super Mario Bros 3 was an amazing title! Mario could fly! We had new enemies to take on in the Koopa Kids or Koopalings. This is still a masterpiece.

2 - Super Mario Odyssey
Goodness, this was an amazing game that I just love. It took the quality soundtrack of Mario Galaxy and surpassed it! The level design was amazing, I adore Cappy, and there is so much to bring you back even after you've defeated Bowser.

1 - Super Mario World
Not only my favorite Mario Game but perhaps my favorite game of all time, Super Mario World blew my mind. The ability to fly was back, but now Mario had a Cape. He could also store a power-up and deploy it at any time! Don't forget about the introduction of one of the greatest companions in any video game, T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas, or as we lovingly know him as, Yoshi. Koji Kondo's soundtrack is amazing and full of little details. Like when Mario Rides Yoshi there's a drum that gets added to the music track. This is simply an amazing game I love so much.
