The power of the word
With the “power” of our words, we must train ourselves to speak in a way that shows respect, gentleness, and humility. One of the clearest signs of a virtuous life is proper speech. Perfecting our speech is one of the cornerstones of mature people. Before you speak, take a moment to think about what you will say and how you will say it; while considering their impact on the listener(s). Be kind to everyone and speak words that inspire, excite and encourage everyone.Kind and sweet words are always music to listeners' ears. Many people are forced to express any feelings, thoughts, or impressions they have. They randomly empty content in their minds without considering the meaning of what they say. When we talk about trivial things like when we gossip about others, our attention is wasted on trivial things. When we talk, we need to speak carefully, to strengthen the peace and compassion in our character. Not only are our words important, but the tone of voice we use also has a huge impact. Certain rules must guide all of our communications with others. Always tell the truth, avoid exaggeration, be consistent in your words, don't use double standards when addressing people, don't use your words to manipulate others, and most importantly don't use words to insult offend or belittle anyone. Thich Nhat Hanh, contemporary Buddhist monk, world peace activist and writer for the book Being Peace, says to "speak honestly in any interpersonal negotiations or group is necessary. It is also necessary to tell the truth with love."Hahn only recommends 'speech of love,' even when communicating our differences and disagreements. We must be 'honest with love'; we must discipline ourselves to speak in a respectful manner. show respect, tenderness, and humility." Gary Chapman in his book, Love as a Way of Life, uses the vivid metaphor of the word "bullet or seed". If we use our words as bullets with a feeling of superiority and condemnation, we cannot recover. successful, we can rebuild the relationship in a positive and energizing manner. When we need to talk frankly about a difficult issue with others, we need to focus the conversation in a focused and purposeful manner. In conversation, we must listen patiently, speak delicately, and tell the truth according to what we understand. We must align our words, intonation and tone, eye expressions, body language, and actions with our inner consciousness in an honest conversation.
