UC Berkeley students in the Capstone Project course showed off their engineering work. This video highlights three energy-related devices, among the 50+ on display: one that produces electricity from ocean waves, a salt-water powered battery and a trendy electronic tattoo.

Capstone is a 9-month course offered by the Master of Engineering degree program and run by the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership in the College of Engineering. Teams of 3-5 students carry out independent projects under the mentorship of a faculty member or an advisor from a private company, government agency, or non-profit, to address present-day engineering industry challenges. Students prepare a report and deliver oral presentations to accompany their project, which can be anything from product prototypes, algorithms, conceptual designs, and software code.
