Kabir Das (1398–1518) was a renowned poet, mystic, and saint who lived in northern India during the 15th century. He was born into a Muslim family, but his poetry transcends religious boundaries and is revered by Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs alike. Kabir's poetry is known for its simple yet powerful language and its emphasis on the unity of all things.

Very little is known about Kabir's life, as he left no written record of his own teachings or experiences. However, it is believed that he was raised in a weaver family and received little formal education. Despite this, his poetry has had a profound impact on Indian spirituality and culture.

Kabir's teachings emphasized the importance of spiritual practice and direct experience of the divine, rather than relying on external religious rituals or dogma. He believed that the ultimate reality was beyond all concepts and dualities, and that the true nature of the divine could only be known through direct experience.

Kabir's poetry is filled with images and metaphors drawn from everyday life, such as weaving, farming, and cooking, which he used to illustrate profound spiritual truths.
