This is a great saw. Buy the biggest blade size you can afford, and buy a fine blade as the one that comes with is a bit course. I just finished a cabin addition, lots of mitering, it looks amazing.
I like that the saw is powerful and cuts easily and cleanly. The vacuum port is a bit large for my shop vac but mostly works. I mounted the saw to a 20"x32" piece of 3/4" plywood.
When I use it I suspend it partially off the workbench and secure with 3 bolts. This extension off the workbench was necessary to provide clearance for the rails and vacuum connection.
I added a plywood fence as shown in the pictures. This makes it easier to determine where the saw will cut (for 0 degree cuts). A strange thing happened the 2nd time I used the saw.
Somehow, a small plastic part (# N63004) fell into the blade and was chopped up (see the image). DeWalt customer service seems incapable of identifying this part!
Maybe someone out there can identify it. They would like me to ship the saw to them for repair/replacement. I can see nothing wrong with the saw so Im really reluctant to ship it off.
If they could identify the part and tell me why they think it needs repair I might change my mind.
I will continue to update this rating and review with useage.
Today was its first day and was a great proving ground for the saw with a big project Im working on.Square out of box, with 32T blade, cut through 44, 212 like a hot knife through butter (as it should), quiet, powerful, and maybe my saw is different but super smooth sliding action, sawdust catcher worked as advertised!
(Pleasantly surprised about that) It worked much better than my previous Makita. Very happy with what I got. Especially for the this price, this is a quality saw that youll be happy you got.
Amazing saw! I bought this and then purchased the led light upgrade kit for 60. That's also worth every penny.
This saw is worth every dollar spent. It has a lot of features I havent even used yet. Bought at the same time as Dewalt saw folding table, which is excellent.
The two units together make your project much much easier. Very well build and sturdy. Look forward to a lot more project that I would never do if I didnt have this.
