1 Thessalonians: The Church and the Coming Lord—Characteristics of Gospel Ministry, 2:1-8

Last time, we looked at the Gospel’s affect on the believer and on the church. There was assurance, action, affection, and anticipation. In Chapter Two, Paul describes the ministry he had with the Thessalonians. Paul is not just reminiscing, he’s laying out a blueprint. This is how Gospel ministry is to be done.
He reminded the church that the Word—the Gospel—had come to them powerfully, and that they had begun imitating Paul—following his example.
Chapter Two is the example. This is what Gospel ministry should look like. (Don’t think I’m just talking about pastors deacons, all Christ-followers are to be Gospel ministers. We are all to share and live the Gospel. We are all to point people to the Savior.)
