Build Confidence with Midrange Offhand Rifle Shooting - It'll Help You at Longer Distances!
Our shooting platform can rely on three types of support: artificial, skeletal, and muscular. Artificial support is the most consistent, so if we have a chance, it is always desirable to use it when engaging medium and long-range targets with a rifle or carbine. This way we will be able to engage the target much faster and with a greater probability of a hit. It’s highly unlikely but if we do not have any artificial support around as we need to trust entirely the skeletal support of the bone structure of our body, including some tendons. We need to try to avoid any muscular support as much as possible as the least consistent and entirely dependent on many factors such as emotional state, as an effect on the nervous system, physical fatigue, tension and etc. Аalthough at such distances, off-hand shooting is far from the most optimal option, practicing engaging distant targets while standing with reasonable success will contribute to much greater confidence and faster results when artificial support is available. Mental calmness, visual patience, isolation of tension, relaxation, and precise trigger manipulation are critical!
