Superman - The Underground World

The Underground World (1943)

Dr. Henderson, a local scientist, proposes to the Daily Planet that they fund an expedition into the "Henderson caves," which were discovered by his father decades ago before he mysteriously disappeared in them. He wants Clark Kent and Lois Lane to join the expedition and report on what they find. Clark and Lois, along with Dr. Henderson, enter the caverns by boat and discover a race of "Hawk Men" who have captured Dr. Henderson and Lois. The Hawk Men are planning to coat them in gold metal, as they did with Dr. Henderson's father, but Superman saves them after fighting his way through the army of Hawk Men. Back at the Daily Planet, the editor burns the report and photographs, believing no one would believe the story.
