Osprey - catching fish

A migratory species that comes from the northern hemisphere, arrives in Brazil during the period from October to April. Its diet consists mainly of fish, which are captured by diving close to the surface of the water. It is possible to see it flying high or perched on trees on the shores of lakes, large rivers, estuaries and coastal areas. In addition, it is known by several names, such as guincho, hawk-fisher, hawk-of-the-sea, hawk-great-fish and hawk-caipira.
