Come usare la parola MICA in italiano
L’espressione MICA, può assumere vari significati!

1. Può assumere il significato di: AFFATTO, PER NIENTE, PER NULLA, e quindi può rafforzare una negazione.
Per esempio:
Non sto mica (= affatto) bene!
oppure
Non ho mica (= per niente) una Ferrari!

2. Con lo stesso significato, MICA si può usare anche da solo, cioè senza l’altra negazione. In questo caso, però, va messo prima del verbo (mentre nella frase di prima lo abbiamo messo dopo il verbo).
Per esempio:
Mica sto bene!
Mica ho una Ferrari!

3. MICA può anche avere il significato di PER CASO in frasi interrogative (con o senza l’altra negazione).
Per esempio:
Mica vuoi quest’altro pezzo di crostata?
Oppure
Non hai mica visto in giro i miei occhiali?

4. Infine, MICA si può anche usare in espressioni come: MICA MALE e MICA TANTO.

MICA MALE: serve per esprimere un giudizio positivo, ma non in modo esagerato…
Per esempio:
– Ti piace questa maglietta?
– Eh, mica male… (→ non è bellissima, ma è carina)

MICA TANTO: serve per esprimere un giudizio negativo, ma non esageratamente…
Per esempio:
– Ti piace questa maglietta? - Mica tanto!
Entrambe queste espressioni possono essere usate da sole.

ATTENZIONE.

MICA MALE può anche essere seguito da un sostantivo;
Per esempio:
Mica male questo vino! (→ c’è di meglio, ma è comunque buono)

MICA TANTO, invece, non può essere seguito da un sostantivo

The expression MICA, can take on various meanings!

1. It can take on the meaning of: NOT AT ALL, FOR NOTHING, and thus can reinforce a negation.
For example:
I am not mica (= not at all) well!
or
I don't have a Ferrari at all!

2. With the same meaning, MICA can also be used alone, i.e. without the other negation. In this case, however, it must be put before the verb (whereas in the sentence above we put it after the verb).
For example:
Mica I'm fine!
I don't have a Ferrari!

3. MICA can also have the meaning of PER CASO in interrogative sentences (with or without the other negation).
For example:
Mica do you want this other piece of tart?
Or
You haven't seen my glasses around, have you?

4. Finally, MICA can also be used in expressions such as: MICA MALE and MICA A LOT.

MICA MALE: is used to express a positive judgement, but not in an exaggerated way....
For example:
- Do you like this shirt?
- Eh, it's not bad... (→ it's not beautiful, but it's nice).

NOT TOO MUCH: serves to express a negative judgement, but not exaggeratedly...
For example:
- Do you like this shirt? - Not that much!
Both of these expressions can be used on their own.

ATTENTION.

MICA MALE can also be followed by a noun;
For example:
Not bad this wine! (→ there is better, but it is still good).

MICA TANTO, on the other hand, cannot be followed by a noun
