The Magnetic Telescope (1942)

The story begins with Clark Kent and Lois Lane witnessing a scientist's demonstration of a magnetic telescope. However, something goes wrong, and the comet being observed crashes into the town. The police argue with the scientist, who refuses to quit his work, and as they attempt to stop him, the comet hurtles towards the town. Lois calls the Daily Planet for help, but the building crumbles around her, pinning her. Clark changes into Superman and saves Lois from the rubble. He tries to stop the comet but fails twice, falling into the generator room. He notices a metal bar in the generator and removes it, sending the generator into motion. Lois sets the machine to reverse, and the comet is sent back into space. Superman's silhouette appears in the telescope control room, and Lois kisses him, only to realize it was actually Clark.
