To have a testimony means that you are a witness. And the central thing that Christians are witnesses of is the resurrection of Jesus. This was historically true of the very first Christians who saw Jesus after His resurrection, and who ate and drank with Him and even touched Him. But after His ascension into heaven, all Christians are still witnesses of the resurrection, but they are witnesses of the power of His resurrection. They are witnesses of objective realities that can only be explained by the historic reality of the resurrection. Therefore, because we have seen the work of the Risen Christ in our lives and in the lives of those around us, we have a testimony. We are witnesses. A Christian testimony, at bottom, is always the message: He is risen. He is alive.
