David is an Ornithologist, biologist and tree climber. David explains how the thought of some tropical birds never being visible from the forest floor gave him the passion to learn to climb trees. David talks about how he was first introduced to tree climbing and the mehtods he used, setting lines with a crossbow and using ascenders to access the canopy of tropical trees in the 90's. He talks about meeting the guys from 'Ascending the giants' in Portland, Oregon, and how they taught him many modern day tree climbing techniques. David now teaches other biologists and scientisits the art of safely and efficiently accessing the canopy of tropical trees in the hope this will be huge for the study of plants and animals in the canopies of the tropical rainforest.
