Police officers used tear gas and water cannons to disperse crowds in Lyon, as people took to the streets to decry new pension reforms on Tuesday. There has been large-scale strikes across France, organized by workers’ unions since January, following the government’s plan to increase the retirement age from 62 to 64 by 2030.
