Ukraine has denied any involvement in the attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines in September, which were built to carry natural gas from Russia to Germany.

It comes after a report from the New York Times, which cited anonymous US intelligence officials suggesting a pro-Ukrainian group was to blame.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, said Ukraine "was absolutely not involved", while Russia has blamed the West for the explosions, which took place on underwater sections of the pipelines.

Meanwhile, German media say investigators believe they have identified the boat used to plant the explosives.
