BAD FATHERLY ADVICE / Pastor Bob's Coffee Break

Dear Pastor Bob: In the book of Proverbs, the Bible says that children should listen to their parents' instruction. Unfortunately, while my dad is a Christian and I do respect him in some areas, he often gives me advice that I don't think is very wise. Sometimes it's about areas that he has little or no experience with. While I love my dad, I don't think that everything about him is worth emulating. I don't want to live the kind of life that he's living, or to manage my finances in the same way that he manages them. How can I tell if the advice that my dad is giving me is actually bad or if it's just my pride getting in the way?
