A teenager was arrested after being found with a tequila bottle and marijuana pipe, following a high-speed chase in a stolen car with two 14-year-old passengers.

The arrest reportedly took place in Pierce County, in the US state of Washington on the night of 19th February.

Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff's Office saw the car driving erratically and suspected the driver of being impaired.

The driver failed to stop, leading to a high-speed chase.

Deputies deployed stop sticks and performed a PIT maneuver, causing the car to spin around and stop.

As soon as the car stopped, the three teenagers ran.

They were later caught and taken into custody.

The 15-year-old driver was wearing a ski mask and had a bottle of tequila and a marijuana pipe on him when he was caught.

He was charged with possessing a stolen car, DUI, and eluding.

The 14-year-old passengers were booked for possessing a stolen car.

This incident comes amid increased concerns about underage drinking and drug use among teenagers.

According to the US Customs and Border Protection's Southwest Border Migration page, in 2021, over 28,000 unaccompanied children were apprehended at the southwest border.

Many were vulnerable to drug trafficking and other forms of exploitation.
