A highway patrol officer escaped being hit by an oncoming semi-truck on a snowy interstate in Rawlins City, Wyoming, United States, as seen in this footage.

The highway trooper seen in the video, walking on the side of Interstate 80 and looking down, suddenly raised his head to see a commercial semi-truck that had lost control coming towards him.

The trooper immediately ran away from the oncoming vehicle's way.

The vehicle eventually ran off the roadway and into the median.

The road condition at the moment of this incident was less than ideal, as snow covered some parts of the highway.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol department said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: "Luckily, no law enforcement or first responders lost their lives to this out-of-control vehicle."

They also addressed the public, saying: "Please remember that emergency personnel wants to be able to make it home safely at the end of their shift.

"Please slow down, and move over for emergency vehicles."
