Tree worker ROPE MANAGEMENT / Coffee break series

Dan talks about the importance of rope management for tree climbers and also when rigging. Rope management is a skill in itself, and one that often gets overlooked in the early years. Managing the tail of your climbing rope while in the canopy can save your rope get trapped, snagged, hitched around stubs, buried in branches on the ground or worst of all getting completely stuck when climbing on a moving rope system which leaves the climber stranded.
Rope management on the ground is also incredibly important. Managing a climber’s rope on the ground ensuring it doesn’t get tangled in branches. Managing the tail of your rigging rope(s) is also a great technique to implement.
