Are Streamers In DANGER?!

Are streamers safe?! Stalkers have been a huge problem for streamers and influencers for years now, but with streaming veterans such as Amouranth and SweetAnita and TikTok Star Keith Lee documenting their experiences on social media recently, we have to ask ourselves, should social media and streaming platforms be doing more?! For years streamers have cried out for Twitch to implement a ban feature that not only bans the user from the chat but blocks their ability to watch the stream. But would features such as this be able to help protect creators from harassment? As someone who has experienced online and in-person stalking before, having a feature like this could have stopped many sleepless nights and anxiety-ridden conventions. I feel that whilst there are many other players in this game, Twitch and other social media platforms MUST start playing their part in helping users cut these terrifying people off having any online access to the victims.
