FIRST TIME USING MY DUTCH OVEN - CAST IRON WEDNESDAY

It’s cast iron Wednesday and I’m finally getting around to trying out my Cabela’s 14 inch Dutch Oven. TheChez gave me a large beef brisket with the stipulation that he gets half.

This was not only the first time using a Dutch oven but also my first time cooking a brisket. My recipe for the brisket rub was a simple 50/50 mix of Cajun spice and all purpose flour.

In hindsight I wish I’d have added 3 cups of beef broth or even water but live and learn.
