The United Nations Population Division says life expectancy has increased globally, citing world-wide access to healthcare, sanitation, food, and education as explanations for the growth. Life expectancy for men and women has increased from 46 years in 1950 to 71 years in 2022. The UN predicts that aside from Africa, the world will see life expectancy rise to 77 years by 2050.
