Session 6A
Title: Ownership Erases Entitlement

When our teens hit the turbulent years, (and they will) a strong family identity provides them with security.

In this session we’ll answer these questions and more…

How can we help our children to take more initiative?
How do we encourage our children to take ownership of their own spiritual lives?
What predictable progression does every person’s life follow?

Key Point:
Without a foundation of habitual obedience it will be difficult for our teens to embrace taking personal ownership of their lives and responsibilities.

Session 6B
Title: Rights or Responsibilities

In this session we’ll answer these questions and more…

Why must budding responsibilities be self-focused?
How do responsibilities help our children develop self-confidence?
How can our children be harmed by inappropriate responsibilities?

Key Point:
With responsibility comes freedom and those who are most responsible will gain the most freedoms.

Session 6C
Title: Making the Transition

When our children are ready to move from obedience to responsibility we must allow them to do so!
In this session, we’ll answer these questions and more…

Why is it so important for moms to treat their teenage sons with respect?
What does it look like to transition from “informing” our children to “asking” our children?
What does the Bible have to say about teenagers?

Key Point:
Learning to ask our older children good dialogue questions will defuse defensiveness and keep the lines of communication open between us.
