What is Liturgy? 16thc Spanish mystic explains why the rituals of the Tridentine Mass are necessary

This is an extract from the book "On the Divine Mysteries of the Sacrifice of the Mass" currently being read by the translator from the original Spanish in this channel Interpretingtradition. It explains, in a few words, the importance or ritual.
Vatican II changes to the Liturgy did away with many of the rituals that had been in the church for almost 2000 years to make it more 'modern'. It did away in fact with most of the rituals of the Liturgy - living doctrine - that were inherited from Old Testament rituals, and transformed the Mass into a Northern-European 'get together'. The current Pope is at the moment trying to ban it completely. Traditional Catholics are resisting as best they can.
