Marco Mendicino, the federal public safety minister, makes an announcement on Parliament Hill about how the government is expanding the list of historically-unjust criminal convictions that are eligible for expungement. Offences added to the list include some that were used to target the LGBTQ community – such as acts of indecency – and offences related to helping someone obtain an abortion. Mendicino is joined by Pam Damoff, his parliamentary secretary, as well as ministers Seamus O’Regan and Pascale St-Onge.
