24 - The Military Industrial Complex, Not Everyone is Tip of the Spear, and Leadership Development
I am joined this week by a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army, Ed (last name omitted for privacy). We talk about military careers and whether Hollywood lies to us when they show us that everybody is a hard-charging warrior at the tip of the spear. We touch on how the so-called "military industrial complex" came to be so large, and some of the good reasons for it to have done so. We also discuss leadership and how the military handles (and even plans for) turnover in roles, develops leaders, and provides roles for those who want to grow but don't want to lead.
One of our longer episodes, but I learned a lot.
