Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-min Son thinks the return of head coach Antonio Conte from illness will give Spurs "an amazing boost" ahead of a must-win game in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

The north London side go into the second leg of the last-16 tie trailing 1-0 against AC Milan with Brahim Diaz's seventh-minute goal in the San Siro giving the Serie A team the edge three weeks ago.

Conte took charge of the team on that night after having emergency gall bladder surgery but stayed in Italy to have a post-operation check when it was decided that he should remain in his native country to rest with his family.

The Italian then missed Tottenham's next two Premier League games, both 2-0 home wins over West Ham and Chelsea, although was in constant phone contact with his assistant coach Cristian Stellini and his players.

The 53-year-old also missed last week's 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United in the FA Cup and Saturday's loss by the same scoreline to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League.

The FA Cup defeat meant that the Champions League is the club's only chance of winning silverware this season, for the first time in fifteen years.
