Drug Dealer Not So Cool As He Is Taken Down Screaming By K9 Police Dog

A man was arrested after leading the police on a high-speed chase, during which he discarded an icebox and a black box containing fentanyl and cocaine.

Chadrick Antwan Ruffin, 33, was arrested after leading the police on a high-speed chase, on the evening of February 19th, 2023, In Belleview, Florida.

Deputy Ricketts attempted to stop Ruffin's automobile in the 1400 block of SE Baseline Road at approximately 10:30 p.m. However, Ruffin, who was driving the car, did not stop and instead raced off southbound on SE Baseline for several miles.

Ruffin was then pursued by K-9 Deputy Esquivel, who chased him on foot with K-9 Jet when he stopped his vehicle on Belleview's Southeast 56th Avenue. During the chase, Ruffin discarded an icebox and a black box, which K-9 Jet retrieved and handcuffed him.

The black box contained 39 grams of fentanyl, 15 grams of cocaine, and a weighing scale. A nearby icebox stored 355 grams of marijuana and plastic bags. The deputy then located both boxes and the marijuana.

Chadrick Ruffin was taken into custody and charged with several offences, including Trafficking in Fentanyl, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Fleeing to Elude a law enforcement officer (with High Speed a Reckless Driving), Possession of firearm by a convicted felon, Possession of marijuana with intent to sell, Possession of a vehicle used for trafficking in controlled substances, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Resisting an officer without violence, and Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Ruffin was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he remains in custody without any restraints. The Belleview Police Department continues to investigate the incident, and further information is expected to be released in the coming days.
